Backup and disaster recovery get you through a hard drive failure or a cyber attack such as ransomware. They also help when a natural disaster forces you to relocate to a temporary location. Are you ready?
Backups are one layer of protection. See our cybersecurity services for the rest.

Backup Services
Hard drives fail over time. Backblaze, which tracks more than 340,000 drives, measured an annual failure rate of 1.36% in 2025. Drive age is one of the factors that affects that rate. Also, a failed drive without a backup means lost data. Your business and client data are key to running your company, so don’t let a hard drive failure cripple your operations. Our Technicians can help you create and setup a data backup plan. That way, a hard drive failure will not cost you your data.

Data Recovery Services
Sometimes a hard drive fails, a computer crashes, or a virus or malware issue prevents you from accessing your data. Our technicians have training in multiple data recovery techniques and software. They will also do everything they can to help you recover your data or regain access to it on that device.

Disaster Recovery Services
In Sophos’s 2025 survey of 3,400 organizations hit by ransomware, only 54% restored their data from backups. That was the lowest in six years. Because cybercriminals now target data backups as well, disaster recovery plans or services should include additional redundancies. These secure your most critical business data.
Backup and Disaster Recovery Statistics
- 88% of small and medium business breaches involved ransomware, compared with 39% at larger organizations (Verizon, 2025 Data Breach Investigations Report).
- In a 2025 survey of 3,400 organizations hit by ransomware, 97% of those whose data was encrypted recovered it, but only 54% did so from backups, the lowest in six years. Nearly half paid the ransom (Sophos, State of Ransomware 2025).
- It took an average of 241 days to identify and contain a data breach (IBM Cost of a Data Breach Report 2025).
- 59% of small businesses surveyed reported a cyber attack in the past 12 months (Hiscox Cyber Readiness Report 2025).
What a good backup plan includes
Backups only protect you if you do them well. These are the things that matter most:
- More than one copy, in more than one place. A common rule is 3-2-1: three copies of your data, on two kinds of storage, with one copy kept off site.
- A copy ransomware cannot reach. Attackers increasingly go after backups too, so keep at least one copy that nobody can change or delete.
- A regular, automatic schedule. A backup is only as useful as it is recent.
- Tested restores. Any backup you have never restored is just a guess.
- A recovery plan. Know what gets restored first, who does it, and where your team would work if your office was not available.
- Everything that matters. Servers, computers, and the email and files you keep in cloud services. See our Microsoft 365 support.
